Southwark Labour thanks voters after resounding election victory

Southwark Labour would like to thank residents for putting their trust in Labour once again to run the council.

Voters in Southwark demonstrated their overwhelming support for Labour’s vision for a fairer, greener and safer Southwark.

We’re proud to have 52 Labour councillors who will be working hard to represent their constituents for the next 4 years. It is the most diverse group of Labour councillors in the borough’s history, with over 50% women and over 40% from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic background.

We would like to thank the hundreds of activists who made this victory possible. Volunteers gave up their time to ensure that we increased our majority, and they should be proud of their efforts.

We would also like to thank and congratulate our candidates, who put in a huge amount of work and dedication to the election campaign.

Work will soon be underway to deliver Southwark Labour’s manifesto, which contains 100 pledges on creating good jobs, tackling the climate emergency, more good quality homes, safer streets and supporting our most vulnerable residents.
